Pymantuning Communications, LLC announces that Houdini has been released for commercial application to wireless dealers in this South Texas market.

Houdini is a low cost, all-in-one software tool that performs three functions on cellular handsets when connected by a USB cable:  it tests receiver sensitivity in order to screen poor reception, it removes the subsidy lock wireless carriers place on handsets in order to prevent them from being used on competing networks, and it “flashes” settings for the new wireless carrier.   In many ways, this resembles “recrystalling” in the paging industry, a process whereby changing the frequency chip in the pager would allow a pager to function on another network.  It is reported that, at the paging industry’s zenith, recrystalling represented as much as 25% of retail activations nationwide.

We have released Susteen driver updates that include the new Sanyo 6650,3200,7050 handsets.  You will need these drivers before you can Houdini Sanyo 6650,7050,3200 once added.
